National Reflector Day Today

2020 10 15

This year, the traditional National Reflector Day is marked on 15 October. Every year, SE Lithuanian Road Administration highlights the National Reflector Day on the third Thursday of October when we are entering a darker time of the year and visibility on the roads is getting worse until spring.

“The Reflector Day is very important and I invite all local authorities and people to join the campaign and take all necessary precautions. Do take care of yourselves and people close to you. Wear reflectors that could save your health or even your life”, says Remigijus Lipkevičius, Director of SE Lithuanian Road Adminstration.

People are invited to check their belongings for the reflectors they might have, to wear them correctly when walking in the dark or in poor visibility. As a matter of fact, visibility is impaired not only by darkness, but by mist, fog, haze, overcast and rain.

Proper use of reflectors is regulated by the Road Traffic Regulations.

This year, SE Lithuanian Road Administration has given 50,000 reflectors for municipalities and other local authorities, which disseminate reflectors among local people at the campaign points marked by the banner “Atšvaitų diena tavo mieste”.

Important: all event participants are kindly invited to take all necessary precautions and to follow the decisions of the State Commander of National Emergency Operations and local authorities related to the epidemiological situation in each municipality.
