A tender procedure for the reconstruction of A. Meškinis (Kleboniškis) bridge near Kaunas was announced

The State Enterprise Lithuanian Road Administration (hereinafter – the Road Administration) has announced public procurement for the reconstruction of the middle bridge over the river Neris, which is called the A. Meškinis bridge, located near the completed bridge (in the section between the kilometres 99.03 and 100.47 of the highway A1 Vilnius – Kaunas – Klaipėda).

This Sunday, a huge traffic safety event for the whole family will take place in Vilnius

On April 6, the Traffic Safety Day is commemorated in Lithuania. On that occasion, we invite the residents and guests of Vilnius city to refresh their knowledge about the road safety rules at the event Esu saugus ir saugantis kitus (eng. Safe Myself and Saving Others) organised by the State Enterprise Lithuanian Road Administration (hereinafter – the Road Administration), that will take place on the 3rd of April, Sunday, in the Cathedral Square of the capital. During this event, the visitors will be invited to participate in educational activities and to get a closer look at the work of special services.

The traditional competition “Road Safety 2022” is announced

The State Enterprise Lithuanian Road Administration (hereinafter – the Road Administration) announces the traditional drawing competition ‘Road Safety 2022’. As in previous years, works by six winners of the competition will be used to decorate the pavilions of bus stops. At the end of the competition, they will be selected by the place of residence of the participants who won the competition. As has been the case in the past, students attending educational and training institutions, members of non-governmental organisations, and communities are invited to participate in the competition, that covers the whole Lithuania.

Seasonal changes to the Road Traffic Rules: drivers will be able to drive faster on motorways and highways, but will always have to drive at a safe speed

The State Enterprise Lithuanian Road Administration informs about seasonal changes to the Road Traffic Rules: from April 1, a summer tire season begins, and drivers can drive at a higher maximum permitted speed on motorways and highways.

The section of the road A1 between Vilnius and Kaunas has been given a motorway category

The State Enterprise Lithuanian Road Administration informs that from April 1 of this year, the road between Vilnius and Kaunas (section between the kilometres 18.1 and 95 of the highway A1 Vilnius – Kaunas – Klaipėda) will be given the category of a motorway.

Lighting on the roads of national importance will be regulated with the help of a modern system

The last (third) stage of modernization of the lighting of the roads of national importance has been started. During this stage, lighting management and control systems will be installed, and more than 9 thousand luminaire controllers will be installed and integrated into the system.

Variable message signs inform drivers about changes on the highway A1 Vilnius-Kaunas

49 new speed control and warning systems (hereinafter – VMS), which inform drivers about traffic conditions, regulate the permissible speed, notify of possible obstacles on the road, are already functioning in the section between Vilnius and Kaunas of the highway A1 Vilnius-Kaunas-Klaipėda. The State Enterprise Lithuanian Road Administration (hereinafter – the Road Administration) plans to fully take over the equipment from the contractor by March of this year.

Education on the topic of traffic safety – the result also depends on each road user

In 2021, in carrying out educational activities on road safety, the State Enterprise Lithuanian Road Administration (hereinafter – the Road Administration) reached an audience of more than 72,000 through direct communication projects.  Due to the epidemiological situation in the country and the restrictions applied, there was also active communication on the topic of traffic safety in the social network profiles of the Road Administration. This information was actively shared by observers. The posts on the topic of traffic safety published on the Facebook account of the social network of the Road Administration alone reached an audience of more than 730 thousand.

Presentation of the project proposal for one of the busiest sections between Marijampolė and the Polish border of Via Baltica road has been prepared

The public is invited to get acquainted with and at the same time submit proposals for the prepared reconstruction project ‘Reconstruction of the section between the kilometre 85 and 97.06 of the road A5 Kaunas – Marijampolė – Suwałki (Section IV)‘ of the section between Marijampolė and the Polish border of Via Baltica road.

The international agreement on the harmonization of open data has entered into force

After the agreement on the Project in the transport sector, funded by the Connecting Europe Facility, which is called ‘NAPCORE – The National Access Point Coordination Organisation for Europe‘ (hereinafter – NAPCORE; the NAPCORE Grant Agreement) has entered into force in December, cooperation between the countries developing their own open data platforms has officially begun. The State Enterprise Lithuanian Road Administration (hereinafter – the Road Administration) is also among the organisations of more than thirty different countries, that have signed this Agreement.
