The contract of the State Enterprise Lithuanian Road Administration (hereinafter – the Road Administration) for the reconstruction of the intersection of different levels (Paparčiai overpass), which is on the kilometre 39.110 of the highway A1 Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda of the national importance, and of the surrounding roads has entered into force. The value of the contract – 10.495 million euros, including VAT. The condition of the so called Paparčiai overpass is the worst in the network of the roads of national importance. The weight of heavy vehicles traveling on this overpass is currently limited.

The contracts of the State Enterprise Lithuanian Road Administration (hereinafter – the Road Administration) for the preparation of the technical work projects for the reconstruction of the footpath and cycling path between Smiltynė and Nida, have entered into force. More than 35 kilometres of the path (from Smiltynė to Preila) will be designed. The public procurement tender procedure will be announced for four sections of the path and, accordingly, 4 contracts have been entered into. The total value of the contracts, that have been entered into, is more than 110 thousand euros.

From October 15, the operators of the Information Department of the State Enterprise Lithuanian Road Administration (hereinafter – the Road Administration) start working under the rhythm of winter, and will focus on road condition monitoring and prompt information of drivers about traffic conditions that often change in autumn and winter.

The procurement for the preparation and implementation of the project for the expropriation for public needs of the land of the section between the kilometres 11.6 and 31.1 of the national road No Kaunas-Prienai-Alytus of national importance has been announced.

SE Lithuanian Road Administration has completed the implementation of the reconstruction project of regional road No 4033 leading to a tourist attraction place the Hill of Crosses. Under the project, a section from km 0.018 to 1.230 of access road from road Riga-Tauragė-Kaliningrad was reconstructed and a pedestrian and bicycle lane was constructed.

The campaign Trafic Safety Stops organized by SE Lithuanian Road Administration (later – the Road Administration) has come to an end. The four-week-long campaign was held in 102 Lithuanian towns, villages and other population centres.

SE Lithuanian Road Administration warns that oncoming autumn and rapidly changing weather conditions bring about fog in the morning and at night. When the fog falls on the roads, traffic conditions may become extremely dangerous.
